A full room typically reaches the limit in 7 to 10 minutes. Every round ends with the podium, the MVP and a vote on the next field and mode.

    Team Deathmatch

    Tag the other team. Medics keep your side in the fight.

    250 tags in 20 v 20, or 10 minutes

    Free For All

    Every operator for themselves, 12 players. Back in 3 seconds after you're out.

    Capture The Flag

    Carry their flag to your base while yours is home. Carriers slow down and get revealed.

    Domination

    Capture and hold zones A, B and C. Any living enemy inside freezes the capture.

    The MK field rules: semi-auto only, friendly fire on, no crosshair, dead men do not talk.

How it plays

Played by airsoft rules

No health bars, no blood and no muzzle flash. BBs are real projectiles with travel time, drop and hop-up, and the core calls come straight from the field: one hit, bang-bang and the 10 foot grenade rule.

  1. One hit, you're out

    A BB on any part of you or your gear takes you out. Your operator raises a hand and calls HIT. A BB fired before the shooter was hit still counts.

  2. Medics and walk-offs

    In TDM, Domination, Hardpoint and CTF you bleed out for 7 seconds. A teammate holding F for 2 seconds brings you back. After 3 seconds you can walk off and respawn at once.

  3. Safe zones

    Nobody fires from inside a team spawn, opponents cannot enter it at any height, and no BB or grenade blast reaches in.

  4. The 10 foot grenade rule

    BB grenades pop 3 seconds after the throw and take out every opponent within 10 feet who has line of sight to them (teammates too in MK House Rules). Marksmen and breachers also carry smoke.

  5. Bang-bang

    Get within 10 feet of an opponent who has not had you in view for 1.5 seconds and call a bang-bang: an instant out, no shot fired.

  6. Honor counts

    Honor starts at 50. Offering bang-bangs and reviving teammates raise it; shooting a player who already called their hit lowers it.

Five classes

Every class carries a gas pistol sidearm, the rubber knife and one BB grenade. Weapon finishes are cosmetic.

Every action can be rebound in Settings. A standard gamepad works too.

Phone and tablet

  • Rotate to landscape to play.
  • A floating move stick sits under your left thumb; push it to the edge to sprint.
  • Drag anywhere else to look. FIRE also looks while held.
  • Buttons for aim, jump, crouch, reload, grenade, use, swap, knife and smoke.
  • No account. Your browser keeps an anonymous profile.
  • 55 levels. Match score plus 500 for finishing, a 25 percent win bonus and medal XP.
  • Cosmetic unlocks only. Weapon finishes and a green tracer BB at level 8.
  • Honor. Starts at 50 and moves with sportsmanship.

Questions

What do I need to play?

A current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari with WebGL 2 on a computer with a keyboard and mouse, or a phone or tablet turned to landscape.

Does it cost anything?

No. Dead Sector is free to play in your browser and there is nothing to buy.

Do I need an account?

No. Your browser keeps a random profile token for your XP and unlocks. Clearing this site's data starts a new profile.

Who am I playing against?

Other people online, plus NPC operators that fill every open slot and step aside as people join.

Can I play with friends?

Every match has a room code and an invite link on the scoreboard and match card. Share it and your friends join that room directly.

Are these the real MK fields?

The maps are hand-traced from MK Airsoft's own field diagrams, with upstairs rooms reached by real stairwells. Book a session to play Brunswick, Clarksburg or Middletown in person.
